Alex over at ihad.de has recently plunged himself into the sea of Neptune with young Ms Veronica Mars.But the lad doesn't appear to be overly impressed by the pilot. Do Ineed to remind him that many pilots are dodgy, trying hard to not onlyset up the grounding of an entire series, but also trying to get theviewers into the middle of life for the residents of the show inquestion? I can think of two shows in recent times that have had reallyground-breaking pilots, Lost and 24 (Series One). Every other show I've watched, from BSG to Firefly to Veronica Mars has needed two or three episodes with which to set up the foundation for the show. Hell I even thought the X-Files was kinda crappy until around the 3rd or 4th episode. (Yes, yes, I know. I shall burn in hell for such heresy).

So Alex, whaddya say? Will you give Veronica a few more episodes towin you in with her charm and sleuthing? I'll buy you a Starbucks ifyou're not convinced.
