Bugs of travel

This just makes me giggle.

This weekend has been one of relaxation and, dare I say it, intense laziness. I had planned today to do a complete cleanup of the apartment, but thus far have managed to do two loads of laundry, the dishes, and a tidy up of my desk. Michael Palin's Full Circle is just far too interesting and is certainly sparking my travel bug again.

I bought a book a year or two ago about the Greek Isles. I'd love to go there, Shirley Valentine style (sans the sex with a moustached Greek guy) and just chill out. Sadly, from what I've been told, to go to such places at the right time means to spend a lot of money and be surrounded by tourist arseholes.

Anyone got any good suggestions for where I should visit?

A couple of photos from Berlin

The trip didn't go quite to plan. In short: the plane was delayed by 5 hours, we therefore got to Berlin in the afternoon after having woken up at 3am. We didn't do as much walking around as I would have liked, but did stop by a fantastic store and picked up a bag (I got the Forscherin model with a burgundy back and three fronts which are attached by a zip).

Berlin is a really lovely city and didn't feel like a capital city at all. It reminded me of Helsinki in that respect. I'll definitely be going back for a longer stay.

Amsterdam

Currently in Amsterdam (this airport rules, btw) waiting for my connecting flight to Gothenburg. Boarding in around 20 minutes, so just killing some time doing what I do best - Internets! I've been trying to find a way of posting from my mobile phone. I have WAP, but waiting for LJ to load on that is a bit time consuming and annoying. :)

The travelling so far has been okay, if a bit too long for my liking. I started off on a train into Paris this morning at 5.45am, and ended up at the airport at around 7am. The check-in was almost immediate due to some fancy electronic thingy. The flight here was only 45 minutes, so no sooner were we up in the air and having a sandwich, that the pilot informed us that we were beginning our descent into A'dam. Something tells me the flight to Gothenburg will be a bit longer. Well, I'm re-reading The Da Vinci Code (it's coming to cinemas in May and I want to remind myself of the plot before I go to see it... so I can pick holes, of course) so that will pass the time.

Gee, I hope I don't freeze my butt off in Sweden. :/
